مايا (زينه) نحلة مشاغبة ومثيرة للمشاكل، ولا تتبع القواعد المتعارف عليها داخل خلية النحل، والتي تتضمن بشكل قاطع عدم الثقة في الدبابير الذين يعيشون وراء المرج، وعندما تقع حادثة سرقة للغذاء الملكي من الخلية، يصبح الدبابير مشتبه بهم، كما يتولد الاعتقاد بأن زينه متواطئة معهم في هذه السرقة، ولا أحد يصدق أنها بريئة ماعدا أعز أصدقائها نحول، مما يدفعهما لخوض مغامرة من أجل البحث عن الفاعل الحقيقي
