1943 reist Carson Shaw nach Chicago, um sich für die All-American Girls Professional Baseball League zu bewerben. Dort trifft sie auf andere Frauen, die auch davon träumen, Profi-Baseballerinnen zu werden. Max Chapman aus Rockford kommt ebenfalls zum Probetraining, wird aber abgewiesen.
