Επισκόπηση
Πέντε ξεχωριστές ιστορίες από διηγήματα του Ο. Χένρι. Ένας άστεγος αλκοολικός προσπαθεί να συλληφθεί αφού προτιμά το κελί από τον χειμώνα στον δρόμο. Ένας αστυνομικός παθαίνει κρίση συνείδησης όταν πρέπει να συλλάβει έναν παιδικό φίλο. Μια αφελής κοπέλα παθαίνει πνευμονία και την παρατάει ο ηθοποιός που την ξεμυάλισε. Δύο απατεώνες απαγάγουν τον γιο του σερίφη, αλλά δεν τα βγάζουν πέρα. Ένα νεαρό ζευγάρι πασχίζει να πληρώσει τα χριστουγεννιάτικα δώρα που πήρε.
