Synopsis
Durant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, à Christchurch, Nouvelle-Zélande, 4 soeurs (Barbara, Anne, Delia et Evelyn) vivent sans hommes, leur père et leur frère ayant été tués, comme le mari de Barbara, tandis que celui de Delia est prisonnier de guerre.
