Quatre-vingts ans après la première apparition de l'homme chauve-souris, un auteur, Marc Tyler, se bat pour faire reconnaître les droits de celui qui fut la véritable force créatrice de ce succès planétaire et qui est mort sans jamais connaître la gloire qui lui était due : Bill Finger.
