概要
第2次世界大戦時、24回の白昼爆撃の任務を遂行していた唯一のB－17爆撃機、メンフィス・ベル。故郷に帰るまであと残る最後の1回の飛行を前に、ほとんどが10代の若者の乗組員達は明日を胸にそれぞれの思いで前夜を過ごしていた。そして翌朝、朝焼け雲をついてメンフィス・ベルと10人の若者は飛び立ってゆく。
