概要
ある夜、公園で若い女性が殺されるという事件が起き、警察は近所で仕立て屋をしている、過去に性犯罪を起こしたことがある中年男性イールを怪しいとにらむ。イールは特に取りえがない孤独な人物。楽しみといえば自室の窓から別のアパートに住む女性アリスの姿を盗み見ること位だが、彼はまた、アリスにエミールという婚約者がいることに気付いていた。ある日彼女のほうがイールに接近していく。果たして若い女性を殺したのは誰か。
