Overzicht
Al zo lang als de mens zich kan herinneren kennen de uitgestrekte Oekraïense bossen talloze geheimen en mysteries. Er wonen wonderlijke wezens tussen eeuwenoude bomen die hun heilige rijk trouw bewaken. Eén van hen is het jonge meisje Mavka. Zij is gekozen tot Beschermer van het Woud en haar belangrijkste taak is het Woud én zijn Hart - de Bron van het Leven - te beschermen tegen hun vijand: de mens.
