Sinopse
Orfã de mãe, Nagiko (Vivian Wu) cresceu em uma tradicional família japonesa, sendo criada pelo pai (Ken Ogata) com o auxílio da tia (Hideko Yoshida). A cada aniversário da jovem, seu pai escreve bençãos em seu rosto e nuca enquanto a tia lê um antigo manuscrito. Com o passar do tempo, o ritual marcará momentos importantes na vida da protagonista.
