Fred Claus vyrastal v tieni obdivovaného mladšieho brata Santu a stal sa z neho zachmúrený ufrfľaný chlap, ktorý neverí na Vianoce. Jedného zimného dňa ale predsa len vyrazí na sever za svojím bratom pomôcť mu. Objavil sa totižto neznámy vedecký expert, ktorý chce Vianoce úplne zrušiť. Pre Freda to bude cesta, kde znovu objaví nielen Vianoce, ale aj puto rodiny.
