1978年2月1日，罗曼·波兰斯基(Roman Polanski)在洛杉矶登上飞往巴黎的飞机，自此之后，他再也没有回到美国，即使2003年他的电影《钢琴师》(The Pianist)获得了奥斯卡最佳影片。而就在1968年，波兰斯基还曾经花重金在比弗利山的班奈迪克山谷购置了一套豪华住宅，位于著名的茨埃罗大道。虽然波兰斯基拿的仍旧是法国护照，但随着《罗斯玛丽的婴儿》(Rosemary’s Baby)当年的热映，他已经做好了在美国定居的打算。
