简介
平凡的男青年维克多（阿兰·贝茨 Alan Bates 饰）爱上了他的同事英格丽（朱恩·里奇 June Ritchie 饰），两人和世界上大部分情侣一样的相处着。一天，英格丽告诉维克多，她的腹中怀上了他的孩子，于是两人决定携手步入婚姻的殿堂。 刚刚结婚那段日子里，维克多和英格丽过得非常的幸福和恩爱，可是由于两人都没有房子，他们只得和英格丽的母亲住在一起。英格丽的母亲是一位非常爱管闲事的妇人，家中的大小事宜都要过问，因此常常和维克多产生矛盾，每当两人吵架时，英格丽往往都站在母亲的那一边责备维克多，这让后者感到很失望。随着时间的推移，夫妻两人之间的感情产生了裂痕。
